Character education for kids in School

Many teachers began adapting a new technique of teaching called character education. This helps give confidence to a happy young child that grows into a fully efficient and capable adult. Many people feel that we need to begin providing our children an education that helps them build skills, life strategies and character that help them grow into completely proficient, independent citizens. Many schools try to include character education into the regular curriculum.

The responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, respect, caring for others, and citizenship should be included in the character education. Responsible behaviours, empathy and faithfulness are fundamental to these qualities. Character is a must for society and our culture to continue.

It plays a very important role in the development of healthy self esteem. Young children need to be able to persist in the face of difficulty, solve problems, behave respectfully and respond properly to situations in order to become flexible and confident adults with good emotional health. Many children are inclined to hold on to values - whether good or bad.

Children can easily become targeted to the fears and worries of the media which can affect their attitude in life. It becomes a schools responsibility to take care of the child and help nurture their character through positive means and reinforcement.

Many families maintain active roles in their children's lives and they know the children can be influenced by peers, teachers and the content taught at school. Parents need to begin to realize just how important it is for Schools to encourage and develop character education for their children.
However, good character qualities benefit the individual as well as society. They encourage the development of personal strength and flexibility as well as supporting the interests of other individuals, communities and the nation as a whole.

The education of children is planned to prepare them for positive adult life. Without character education, our children are ill, not ready for life's journey. The plain fact of the matter is that if children are not helped to develop confident personality that will support them in life, they will be less able to communicate positively to others, make good decisions and build a solid foundation for their future. Character education helps future generations.

The role of TAG Public School is building character from early childhood education

TAG Public School believes that a good child is an educated child, so they have implemented a character education in their Play School XSEED curriculum. These early years of character education will educate each student to be responsible and productive citizens who will be able to effectively manage future challenges. TAG Public School is emphasising the XSEED Curriculum and its elements of character and providing opportunities for their students to practice their new character building techniques in the community. The character education is dependent on several core values that represent good character.

What does TAG Public School believe to be the best core values?

- Courage: The School believes that having the courage and determination to do the right thing even when others don't is an admirable quality to have. Courage also includes trying difficult tasks that are ultimately worthwhile.

- Good Judgment: Good judgment often entails a person to choose worthy goals and setting proper priorities. It also means that you're able to think about the consequences of your actions before performing tasks.

- Integrity: The School wants their children to have integrity. This means having the inner strength to be truthful, trustworthy, and faithful at all times as well as being just and honorable.

- Kindness: Kindness is perhaps one of the most important elements of character education. Kindness allows individuals to be considerate, courteous, and helpful as well as treating others the way you would want to be treated.

- Perseverance: The School encourages perseverance above all others because with it, a child can succeed to the highest levels. Persevering in the pursuit of difficult opposition, or worthy goals, shows that they have the patience and fortitude to follow their tasks through to the end even when faced with mistakes or failure.

- Responsibility: Students are being encouraged to be more responsible in the TAG Public School. This includes carrying out all obligations and duties assigned to them and well as being accountable for their actions, good or bad.

- Self-Discipline: Self-discipline is also another very important part of the character education in TAG Public School. Self-discipline teaches that regulating yourself for improvement and refraining from inappropriate behaviour is a necessary component of being in control of your actions. It also encourages doing your best in all situations and being proud of yourself for doing it.

Overall, TAG Public School is doing a good thing by trying to teach these core values to their students from early childhood education. Character building in the TAG is uniform and all the students are taught in the same manner. Actually, this responsibility should be mutual among teachers, parents and other members of the community as children are our future generation of society. They should be brought up with care and positive knowledge and skills should be passed onto them so that grow up to be socially responsible citizens of the country.
